Triple zero roulette spins a 39 pocket wheel, thirty six numbers joined by three green slots marked 0, 00 and 000, and since it pays the same prices as a 37 pocket wheel, the house keeps 7.69% of every bet over time. That is almost three times the single zero cost. This page shows the 000 roulette layout, works out every chance on the table, compares the three wheels side by side, and lets you feel the difference on a free simulator with play credits.

What is triple zero roulette?
Take a double zero wheel and squeeze in one more green pocket, this one labeled 000. You now have 39 places for the ball to stop, three of them green. That is the whole change. Every price on the board stays where it was: a single number is still worth 35 to 1, a column 2 to 1, red 1 to 1.
The trouble is that those prices were set for fewer pockets. With 39 outcomes, a fair price on one number works out to 38 to 1. Paying 35 leaves three units out of every 39 with the house, on average. Players see the same familiar game; the casino quietly collects more per spin. Some casinos have added these tables alongside their regular ones, which is why they are worth recognizing.
The triple zero roulette wheel layout and board
On the felt, glance at the strip of green above the 1, 2, 3 row. A single zero board has one green box there. A double zero board has two. A triple zero roulette board has three: 0, 00 and 000. Below it sits the familiar grid of 36 numbers, framed by dozens, columns and the six one to one boxes.
The roulette wheel with 000 holds 39 pockets, so each pocket is a little narrower than on a 37 pocket wheel of the same size. You can bet any of them straight up, just like 17 or 32.
Like its two partners, 000 belongs to no outside group, so a 000 result clears every outside chip off the felt. With three green pockets, that happens on 7.69% of spins, about once every 13 spins. Our green 0 and 00 page explains how each zero works.
Where 000 roulette is found
The triple zero layout is used in some casinos in the United States, most visibly on the Las Vegas Strip, often placed next to regular double zero tables. You may not spot the difference from a few steps away, because the table looks almost the same.
It is not a regional tradition like the single zero wheel in Europe or the double zero wheel across the US. It is a variant that some casinos choose because it earns more per spin. That is why the advice is simple: if the casino also runs double or single zero tables, those cost less on every bet. See how US floors usually split their wheels on roulette in Las Vegas.
Why the edge is 7.69%, worked in units
Cover every pocket once with a single chip, all three zeros included. That is 39 chips out. The pocket that hits sends back 36 (35 won plus its own chip). You end 3 chips short. Three in 39 is 7.69%.
The even money boxes give the same answer. Picture 39 spins that land in every pocket exactly once, with a chip on red each time: 18 reds put you up 18, 18 blacks take 18 back, and the three zeros take 3 more. Net, minus 3 in 39.
In a session. 40 spins at 5 units each is 200 units of action. At 7.69% the average cost is about 15.4 units. The same night on a double zero table averages about 10.5, and on a single zero table about 5.4.
Triple zero vs double zero vs single zero
| Measure | 0, 00 and 000 | 0 and 00 | 0 only |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pockets on the wheel | 39 | 38 | 37 |
| A zero lands | 7.69% of spins | 5.26% | 2.70% |
| Your single number hits | 2.56% | 2.63% | 2.70% |
| Red comes up | 46.15% | 47.37% | 48.65% |
| Casino keeps per bet | 7.69% | 5.26% | 2.70% |
| Typical loss on 100 one unit bets | 7.7 units or so | 5.3 units or so | 2.7 units or so |
Each extra zero adds roughly 2.5 points of edge. Moving from a triple zero table to a single zero table cuts the average cost of your night by about two thirds. The full double zero version is covered in American roulette and the single zero version in European roulette.

Odds of every bet on a 000 table
The prices are the usual ones. What shrinks is the share of 39 pockets that pays you.
| You bet on | Pockets that pay | Your chance | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| One number (any zero included) | 1 | 2.56% | 35 to 1 |
| Two touching numbers | 2 | 5.13% | 17 to 1 |
| A row of three | 3 | 7.69% | 11 to 1 |
| A block of four | 4 | 10.26% | 8 to 1 |
| Two rows, six numbers | 6 | 15.38% | 5 to 1 |
| Twelve numbers, a dozen or column | 12 | 30.77% | 2 to 1 |
| Half the numbers, such as red | 18 | 46.15% | 1 to 1 |
Want to check a mixed bet? The payout calculator shows chances and expected loss for the standard wheels; for a 000 table, add roughly 2.4 points of edge to the double zero result.
Try triple zero roulette on the free simulator
The table above opens on the triple zero preset, so the layout has three green boxes: 0, 00 and 000. It runs on play credits, stores nothing and needs no download.
- Pick a chip size from the tray (1, 5, 25 or 100).
- Tap numbers, any of the three zeros, or an outside box.
- Spin. The winning number, the payout and your balance (starting at 1,000 credits) appear at the top of the table.
- Keep an eye on the zero count in the history panel next to the last 20 numbers.
An eye opener: bet 10 credits on black for 100 spins. That is 1,000 credits of action, so the average cost is close to 77 credits. Now reset, open the single zero simulator, and run the identical bet. The average there is about 27. Do it a few times each and the gap shows up in your balance, not just on paper.
How to handle a triple zero table
- Check the head of the board before you buy in. Three green boxes means the 7.69% table.
- Walk a little. A double zero table nearby costs about a third less per bet; a single zero table costs about two thirds less.
- No bet fixes it. Every standard bet on this wheel carries the same 7.69%. No system or pattern changes that.
Questions players ask
What is triple zero roulette?
It is a roulette game whose wheel carries 39 slots, three of them green (0, 00 and 000). Prices match the regular game, so those extra green slots lift the casino's cut to 7.69%.
What is the house edge on a 000 roulette wheel?
7.69% on standard bets, because 3 of the 39 pockets are green and the payouts assume 36. Over a long run that means near 7.7 units gone per 100 wagered, against near 5.3 with two zeros and near 2.7 with one.
Where is triple zero roulette played?
It appears in some casinos in the United States, most often on the Las Vegas Strip, usually beside regular double zero tables. Check the head of the board: three green boxes mean a triple zero table.
Can you bet on 000?
Yes. A chip placed squarely on 000 is a normal straight up bet: 35 to 1 if it hits, which happens 1 time in 39 (2.56%). It carries the same 7.69% edge as every other standard bet on that table.
Is triple zero roulette worth playing?
Not if a single or double zero table is close by. The game is the same, but the average loss runs nearly triple what one zero would cost. Curious anyway? Spin the free simulator on this page with play credits.
